How to Make Christmas Bark

This white chocolate Christmas bark recipe is quick and easy to make. All you need is candy melts, cookies, and holiday sprinkles.

Disney Christmas Bark Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups candy melts- I used red, but white chocolate melts would look great with the sprinkles and cookie pieces.
  • 3/4 tbsp. coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup crushed OREO cookies- Not a sandwich cookie fan? Try a different cookie
  • 1/4 cup Mickey sprinkles- There are a lot of different colors of Disney sprinkles on Amazon, but these are the best I found for traditional Christmas colors, and these are great for Frozen or winter colors
  • Green jimmies sprinkles
  • Gold ball sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Line a 9×9 or 9×13 inches baking dish with a piece of parchment paper.
  2. Place the candy melts and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl.
  3. Microwave 30 seconds at a time, stirring between each 30 seconds until the mixture is melted and smooth.
  4. Pour the melted candy into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  5. Place the Oreo sandwich cookies in a sealed Ziploc bag.
  6. Using a meat tenderizer or something heavy to smash the cookies into chunks. Don’t over smash or the cookies will become dust and discolor the Christmas red bark.
  7. Sprinkle the cookie pieces and holiday sprinkles over the melted candy, then place in the fridge for about an hour.
  8. Remove from the fridge then remove parchment paper from the pan, dropping the parchment paper onto the counter a couple of times to break the bark up.
  9. Serve and enjoy!

How to Store Christmas Bark

This Christmas bark recipe is great for making a treat ahead of time. Keep leftovers in an airtight container. This treat will stay fresh at least 10-14 days and can be made ahead of time.

To freeze, individually wrap each serving of the bark in parchment paper or waxed paper, then place layers between waxed paper sheets in a freezer-safe storage bag. Place the storage bag in the freezer.

If you’re giving this Christmas bark recipe away, put each serving into a plastic treat bag and tie it with festive ribbon! Making it easy to give as gifts to your family and friends.

Christmas Bark Variations

Blue and white chocolate Christmas bark- This would be great for a Winter Wonderland event. Switch out the sprinkles for silver ball sprinkles, white candy snowflakes, and shades of blue sprinkles.

  • Dark chocolate peppermint bark- Crush some candy canes into small pieces then add them to the melted dark chocolate before you spread it in the pan. Add some red and white sprinkles after the dark chocolate has set, and you will have a yummy peppermint bark.
  • Hot cocoa bark- Use melted milk chocolate chips and mini marshmallows before the bark sets up. Sprinkle with Christmas sprinkles.
  • Candy cane bark- This recipe is a great base recipe to make a candy cane bark. Melt some red or white candy melts then spread them in the pan. Add crushed candy canes over top, and you have a delicious treat just in time for Christmas.
  • Snickerdoodle Christmas bark- Make this bark by adding crushed snickerdoodle cookies pieces to the melted white chocolate. To get that Christmas tree look, sprinkle with green and red jimmies and top with a gold ball sprinkle.
