Rides at Disney Hollywood Studios

There are some amazing rides at Disney Hollywood Studios, including some of the newest rides of any of the Walt Disney World theme parks right now, like Star Wars Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.

Star Wars Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is a motion simulator that allows all six passengers (pilot, engineer, or gunner) to have control over the success or failure of your mission as you smuggle hard to find items in from across the galaxy. The great thing about this ride is that every time you ride it, it’s a different experience with a new outcome based on the actions of other passengers.

This is also a hard fastpass to get and lines tend to be very long. Planning your day around this experience, if it’s on your must do list is a smart idea.

Rock N Roller Coaster Featuring Aerosmith

This high-speed roller coaster follows the storyline that you are running late for a red carpet event so the limo must speed you off to get you there on time. Featuring songs from Aerosmith, and lots of jerking, twisting turns, it is a thrill ride you won’t soon forget.

Slinky Dog Dash

A roller coaster that is perfect for those too young, or not quite tall enough for the Rock N Roller coaster just yet. Andy’s toy slinky will take you through some mild, twists, dips, bridges, and drops.

Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is a thrill ride in a haunted hotel elevator that drops you a whopping 13 stories. After the initial drop, the elevator goes up and down with a series of smaller drops. Watch out for the ghostly elevator passengers!

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

The Resistance is gathering new recruits to join their mission, but the First Order is not going to let you go without a fight. Once your transport has been captured by a First Order Star Destroyer you will need all of the Resistance help you can get, including from Rey and BB-8, to give you a chance to escape.

Alien Swirling Saucers

Based on Disney’s Toy Story movie and the aliens from the vending machine at the arcade. The ride moves you around in a figure-eight pattern of circles in a spaceship around the galaxy.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway

The first ride that focuses on Mickey and Minnie mouse, this 3-D adventure puts you smack dab in the middle of a Disney animated short with Goofy as the engineer of your runaway train.

Star Tours: The Adventures Continue

This ride is a motion simulator where one lucky guest is chosen to be the rebel spy, and their picture is shown on the screen. Each ride features different lands and characters so each time you ride it the experience will be different than the time before it.

Toy Story Mania

Toy Story Mania requires the use of 3D glasses that you will wear as you swirl through carnival games to score points. This ride is lots of fun for visitors of all ages.

Parking at Disney Hollywood Studios

Parking at Disney Hollywood Studios is very similar to parking at the other Disney parks. There is a booth at the entrance to the parking lot where you stop and pay with cash or your debit card if you are staying offsite, and where you have your MagicBand scanned if you are staying at a Disney Resort.

The parking lot at Disney Hollywood Studios opens 45 minutes before the park opens, and currently, they are keeping every other parking space open. This is to help ensure that guests can maintain six feet of social distance even when loading or unloading their vehicles. When you get out of the car, take a picture of the nearest lot sign so that you can find your car easily at the end of a long, fun day.

Parking lot trams that take you to the park entrance, or return you to your vehicle at the end of the day are currently not running. However, since the parks are only open at 50% capacity the walk to the entrance shouldn’t be too far.

Parking is free for Disney World Resort guests, offsite guests cost $25 per day, and annual pass-holder’s park for free with their photo id and pass-holder card. Preferred parking is available and will cost $50 per day during peak season and $45 per day during the regular season. Oversized parking is available for buses and RV’s and will cost $30 per day.

Hours at Disney Hollywood Studios

The hours at Disney Hollywood Studios, like those at all of the Disney parks, have been reduced. The park is currently open from 10 am until 7 pm, due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The reduced hours are so that cast members and employees have plenty of time to sanitize the park each evening.

As you can see, there are lots of amazing rides, restaurants, and shows to enjoy at Disney Hollywood Studios. You are definitely going to find something that everyone will enjoy, and have a great time touring the park as a family. Many people ask if Disney Hollywood Studios is a full day park or if it’s worth the money, and yes, it is both a full day park and worth the money.
