How long was Hocus Pocus in theaters?
The film opened on July 16, 1993 and was released again as a Disney Channel Original movie on October 24, 2006 where it drew 3.7 million viewers.
Does Hocus Pocus have any sequels?
Yes, the original Hocus Pocus cast Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy will return to Salem to play the infamous Sanderson sisters in Hocus Pocus 2, a sequel to the 1993 Disney classic. Although the specific release date of Hocus pocus 2 hasn’t been announced, the film is expected to be released in 2022 on Disney Plus.
Are the Sanderson sisters real?
The sisters are actually real people that the movie characters are loosely based on. The opening scene where the witches are tried & hung is a glimpse at the real life Salem Witch Trials in Salem, Massachusetts that took place from 1692-1697 when the trials were ruled unlawful.
