How to Make Mickey Mouse Rice Krispie Treats

To make your Mickey candy corn treats you will need rice Krispie cereal, marshmallows, butter, orange gel food coloring, yellow gel food coloring, and a Mickey Mouse cookie cutter. If you don’t already have a Mickey cookie cutter, they’re several sizes available on Amazon.

This simple Disney Rice Krispie treats recipe can easily be doubled or tripled if you need to make enough Mickey candy corn treats for a crowd. If you are unfamiliar with gel food coloring, you should be able to find it in the baking section of your local craft store or on Amazon.

To make these Mickey Mouse Rice Krispie treats you will need to work in batches so that you have the three colors of candy corn that you need. Separate your Rice Krispies, marshmallows, and butter into thirds.

Melt your butter, and add the marshmallows. Once the marshmallows are melted you are ready to add in the rice Krispies and the orange gel food coloring.

Once the Rice Krispies are well coated, place a thin strip of the mixture into your pan. Repeat this process with your yellow gel food coloring, and make a batch with just marshmallows and no food coloring for the white of our candy corn. Alternate your Rice Krispies in the pan with a strip of orange, white, and yellow so that it looks like candy corn.

Leave your Rice Krispies to cool for several hours so that they will stay together when you cut them with the cookie cutter. If you need to speed up the cooling process you can put the pan in the refrigerator for an hour or so. Once they are cooled use your Mickey Mouse shaped cookie cutter to cut out your individual candy corn Mickey treats.

How to Store Mickey Mouse Treats

You can keep these Halloween treats at room temperature for several days. Just make sure that you put them in an airtight container or a storage bag first so that they don’t become hard and inedible.

Cereal Treat Variations

Now that you know how simple it is to make these Mickey Mouse Rice Krispie Treats, you can get creative and make all sorts of different variations. For example, if you wanted to serve these adorable Mickey treats for another occasion you could easily change the colors for the food coloring gel.
