Mickey Saves Santa

If you are looking for a new Disney Christmas movie to watch then check out the new Disney short Mickey Saves Christmas. This new Disney short is a fun watch for the whole family as Minnie, Mickey, and Pluto help Santa make sure that Christmas arrives for everyone.

You might also enjoy reading the book “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Mickey Saves Santa” with your kiddos this year. The book is too cute and a perfect quick read for reading out loud to the kiddos while they enjoy a yummy Mickey Mouse cookie!

How to Make Santa Mickey Mouse Cookies

To make these decorated Mickey Mouse cookies you will need a Mickey Mouse cookie cutter and a few common ingredients you probably already have in the kitchen.

To whip up a batch of these adorable Disney cookies, you’ll need flour, cocoa powder, butter, cinnamon, sugar, salt, and vanilla extract. You will also need two piping bags and a bag of red, yellow, and black candy melts.

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and then whisk the flour, cocoa, cinnamon, and salt together in a bowl. Use your stand mixer to beat the sugar, butter, and vanilla until it’s creamy. Beat your dry ingredients into the wet ones until a dough ball forms.

Sprinkle some flour on your counter and roll the dough until it is ½” thick. Use your Mickey Mouse cookie cutter and cut out 12 cookies from your dough. Bake your cookies for eight to ten minutes and allow them to cool completely before decorating them.

You can have the kiddos help you with mixing up the cookies and rolling them out if you like. Or you can make a batch on your own to surprise the family with dessert and a movie!

Melt your red candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second increments. Place three Mickey cookies on a wire rack and spoon the red candy melts on top of the cookies. Gently bang the wire rack on the counter so that the candy melts spread over the entire cookie. Allow the candy melts to harden and repeat the process with the remaining cookies.

Melt a small amount of the yellow and black candy melts separately and put them into two different piping bags. Pipe a black line across the middle of the Mickey Mouse cookie. Pipe a yellow square in the middle of the black line to create a belt buckle. Allow the candy melts to harden and serve your Mickey Santa cookies as a movie night snack!

These adorable cookies look like a Mickey Mouse Santa Claus, and they are delicious and easy to make too!
