Tiger Tail Pretzels

Today we’re going to make a simple copycat recipe for their Tiger Tail Pretzels. These are pretzel rods that are dipped in chocolate and then rolled in orange candy sprinkle. They are so easy to make and only require a few ingredients.

Your little ones can even get involved dipping the pretzel rods or making tiger stripes.

What you’ll need:

  • Pretzel rods
  • Black melting wafers
  • Orange melting wafers
  • Piping bag
  • Candy sprinkles, optional

Prep a wax paper covered cookie sheet (or two depending on how many pretzels you’re making) to cool the chocolate covered pretzel rods on.

Start by melting the orange melting chocolate in the microwave for 30 second increments in a microwave-safe medium bowl, stirring after each increment.

Once the white chocolate wafers are melted, use a spoon to coat ¾ of the pretzel rod with melted chocolate. Carefully shake off any excess milk chocolate and place the pretzel on parchment lined baking sheet. Repeat as many times as necessary until you have covered the desired amount of pretzel rods.

Melt the black melting chocolate in another glass bowl, following the same directions as the orange melting candy. Once heated, spoon the melted chocolate into pastry bag and cut of small tip off the corner. If you don’t have a disposable piping bag, you can easily use a Ziploc bag with the corner snipped.

Drizzle the melted black chocolate over the pretzel rods in a back and forth motion to create Tigger’s stripes.

Let dry until the chocolate is solid, then serve and enjoy!

What are candy melts?

Candy melts are just pre-colored white chocolate wafers and they make dipping and decorating pretzel rods much easier. However, you can absolutely use regular white chocolate chips melted with a little bit of oil stirred in.

Can I make these chocolate dipped pretzel rods ahead of time?

You sure can! These store well in an air-tight container on the counter or in the fridge for up to two weeks. Just be sure to bring them to room temperature before serving and don’t let them get hot or the chocolate will melt and colors may mix together.

Can I use chocolate chips instead?

You can, just replace the black stripes with melted milk chocolate or dark chocolate, according to whichever you prefer.

These are the best chocolate covered pretzels and will make any Winnie the Pooh fan happy and bounce for joy! Give the Tigger tails a try and enjoy them with your family tonight.
