Valentine’s day at Disney World is just like every other holiday where you are bound to find special limited-time treats, especially at the bakeries and chocolatiers, as well as the restaurants and resorts.

Perhaps you have never heard of a crinkle cookie before. Chances are you have seen or eaten one, and may just not know what they are called. Crinkle cookies are soft, cake-like cookies that have been rolled in powdered sugar before cooking them. When the cookies are baked the powdered sugar cracks, giving them their crinkled appearance.

The first thing you will need to make this red velvet crinkle cookie recipe is a box of red velvet cake mix. You will also need powdered sugar, oil, eggs, and a Mickey Mouse-shaped cookie cutter.

Mickey Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies

Making your red velvet crinkle cookies is easy! Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper, and put the powdered sugar in a small bowl.

Put your cake mix, oil, and eggs in a bowl and use an electric mixer to combine. The dough will be sticky, and some people prefer to refrigerate it for an hour to make rolling the dough balls easier, but you don’t have to if you are pressed for time.

Use a one-tablespoon cookie scoop to roll the cookies into balls. Take the dough balls and cover them completely in powdered sugar. Place the balls on your cookie sheet and press down on them with a glass.

Bake your cookies for nine to eleven minutes or until the edges start to turn brown. Set the cookies aside to cool for two minutes, and then use your Mickey cookie cutter to cut out your cookies.

You can make crinkle cookies in lots of different flavors including chocolate crinkle cookies, lemon crinkle cookies, and strawberry crinkle cookies. You can even make brownie crinkle cookies by substituting the red velvet cake mix for a box of brownie mix instead.

These crinkle cookies are perfect for celebrating, and they would look amazing on a holiday cookie tray. They are also easy enough to make that you can whip up a batch for the family anytime that they would like some in just a few minutes, with ingredients you already have at home.
